The blockchain revolution started with these early pioneers’ love for exception and cryptography. Adam Back, Hal Finney, and Nick Szabos, were each instrumental to the early days of Bitcoin’s history. The Cypherpunks were an offshoot of the cyberpunk movement; which combined fascination with the internet and computers with a love of 1980s and 1990s counterculture. The goal of the Cypherpunks was to use the tools of encryption; invented by the military-industrial complex, to protect individual freedom.
Many rumors suggest that one of these original Cypherpunks was Satoshi Nakamoto. Perhaps Satoshi still lives with us to this day, basking in his greatness as the anonymous founder of Bitcoin.
